Meditation has been the most healing and transformational aspect of my journey...
Hi, I'm Shawna.
Meditation Teacher, Psychospiritual Coach, Author of ‘The Light That Shines Through’ & Former Mental Health Nurse
Coming from a history of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and a stressed, worrying and negative mind, finding meditation 15 years ago was my doorway into healing and shifting my life.
It was a weekly program that introduced me to meditation and allowed me to experience the transformational shifts the practice can provide. Through the weekly LIVE and at-home practice I began to work with the mind, understand its patterns, decrease stress and suffering, and access a deeper state of peace and fulfillment within. My stress decreased, the negative commentary in my mind settled, and my mood improved. Living from these more balanced and peaceful states also allowed me to access my intuition more deeply and steered my life onto a more aligned and fulfilling path.
This program is structured in the same way, to provide you with the understanding, tools and most importantly, the weekly practice and guidance needed to really grasp and experience the benefits of the meditation on your mind and your life. I find group programs that keep you immersed in a practice over the span of a few weeks are most effective for healing and creating shifting experiences.
Meditation has now been my own primary practice for over 15 years and has provided the deepest healing within my life (internally and externally). It’s been my pleasure to teach meditation for the last 11 years to over 900+ students.
Join me for 6 weeks of meditation practice.
What is Meditation?
Mindfulness and Insight Meditation practices train the mind in focused attention and open awareness. They help to cultivate a stable, present-moment calm and, from that grounded state, to develop a clearer and more insightful perspective on your thoughts, emotions, and habits, leading to lasting personal change.
Benefits of Mindfulness & Insight Meditation:
Reduction in daily stress, worry and anxiety.
Improved emotional balance, improved mood, and a natural decrease in reactive habits.
Sharper, more sustained focus and less mental clutter and ruminating thought patterns.
Clearer self-awareness, helping to identify and understand old patterns.
A more compassionate and less critical relationship with yourself.
Greater resilience and steadiness when facing life’s challenges.
Deeper access to inner wisdom and clarity on your path forward.
A deeper sense of ease and presence in everyday activities.
Improved sleep and a more regulated nervous system.
- Greater appreciation for the present moment and deeper fulfillment in the Now.
There are some additional energy healing and heart-opening practices added to the program as these have been deeply healing on Shawna’s own journey.

A Peek Inside the Program...
What's Covered Each Week?
In week one, you’ll learn the principles and attitudes of mindfulness, as well as the three core elements of our weekly meditation practice – the purpose of each element and how each one works. We’ll then begin our first 30-minute meditation practice focusing on the attitudes of mindfulness and the 3 elements of our practice. We’ll also discuss how to bring these core attitudes into your everyday life. An MP3 guided meditation for your weekly practice is provided, along with a reflective activity to help you apply the attitudes of mindfulness throughout the week.
In week two, you’ll learn to gain awareness of your thought patterns, including looking at the conditioned stories and beliefs you hold that often create suffering. We’ll also explore the concepts of attachment and aversion, as well as the conditioned mind vs. unconditioned mind, and how these thought patterns shape our experience. Our guided meditation will focus on creating space between you and your thoughts, allowing you to see them clearly and cut through their illusions. We’ll also discuss how to apply this insight to disengage from stressful mental patterns in your daily life. An MP3 guided meditation on thought awareness is provided, along with a journaling prompt to use throughout the week, designed to help you identify the specific thought patterns that create suffering within you.
In week three, you’ll learn how to work with emotions that arise both in meditation and in daily life. We’ll explore the concept of “parts” from the Internal Family Systems model, discovering that challenging emotions often belong to distinct parts of us—each holding specific beliefs and stories. Our guided meditation will focus on feeling emotions mindfully in the body, while also learning to recognize the part and the story that may be arising alongside them. We’ll also discuss how to bring this reflective work to emotional triggers as they occur in your daily life. An MP3 guided meditation for working with emotions and parts is provided, along with a reflection exercise to support you throughout the week.
During weeks 4 and 5, we focus on deepening our meditation practice and weaving together and practicing the concepts of weeks 1-3. We use additional points of focus during our 30 minute guided meditations – the soundscape and body sensations – so that you can experience various points of focus to determine which meditation technique suits you most.
In our final week, we’ll explore the art of resting in “just being” and what is called open awareness. We’ll discuss what this state represents and how it connects to working with our thoughts and emotions. We’ll also explore “being-ness” versus the conditioned mind and why this is such a helpful and needed concept and state to live from within our lives. A final guided 30-minute meditation on “just being and open awareness” is provided, along with reflections on living from this place of embodied presence.
**The true experience and felt understanding of the above concepts will come through the practice piece of this course, which is why the 6 weeks will be practice-focused.
You will be encouraged to have a daily 20-minute seated meditation practice throughout the course. MP3s for this practice are provided. If you miss a day, no worries – just hop back into your practice.
